WU25 Panel: Talking Photography and Watches with Bulova x Photoville This panel, which features a collaborative effort between Bulova and Photoville, is a unique dialogue on the profound relationship between photography and horology. Featuring photographer Brian Alcazar ( @1st ), Photoville founder Sam Barzilay, and Jason Gong of Complecto, this discussion is wide ranging and appropriately touches on what makes photographing New York City special. You won’t want to miss it! View the interview on here on YouTube or read along below. The following conversation has been lightly edited for brevity and clarity. [VIDEO] Hands-On: The Incredibly Wearable Grand Seiko SLGW007

[VIDEO] Hands-On: The Incredibly Wearable Grand Seiko SLGW007 It’s very telling to me to see what my initial reactions were to a watch when it was announced. At Watches and Wonders 2024, Grand Seiko launched the SLGW003 “birch bark” featuring a new movement, the manual-wound 9SA4, and a new case within the Evolution 9 series. Looking back at the video that Zach Kazan and I shot to accompany the announcement post, you can see just how excited we were about it, despite being jet-lagged and inundated with new releases. The interesting part is that the new movement, which by all measures is the more significant development for the brand in terms of R&D, played second fiddle to the case, which addressed some enthusiast issues with Grand Seikos. At 38.6mm x 45mm x 9.95mm, the SLGW003 had idyllic proportions, particularly in terms of thickness, which has long been a thorn in GS’s Zaratsu-polished side. Additionally, the 003 featured 20mm lugs, an uncommon feature for a GS, yet the m...

Hands-On: The 36mm Tudor Ranger 79930 Is What Fans Wanted All Along

Hands-On: The 36mm Tudor Ranger 79930 Is What Fans Wanted All Along Throughout Dubai Watch Week, a common question asked between collectors and press was, "What's your favorite release of Dubai Watch Week?" The Chopard L.U.C. Grand Strike was one of, if not the most complicated. Kari Voutilainen released two new models, and in typically-Kari fashion, they flew slightly under the radar (as he doesn't often toot his own horn). But there was no doubt in my mind that the biggest release from Dubai Watch Week in 2025 was the new Tudor Ranger ref. 79930. With a new size (36mm) and a new dial ("Dune White") with storytelling centered around the upcoming Dakar Rally endurance race, the new Tudor Ranger will undoubtedly be the most significant commercial success from the Dubai Watch Week. And deservedly so. In many ways, this is what the Tudor Ranger should have been all along. This is a bit of a full-circle moment for me. The launch of the original reissue of ...

Business News: Top Swiss Watch CEOs Talk Leadership And Strategy Amid Industry Challenges At Dubai Watch Week Dubai leaped to the center of the watch world this month as the top names in the industry converged on the rapidly growing city in the United Arab Emirates for the 10th edition of Dubai Watch Week .
