[VIDEO] Hands-On: The Incredibly Wearable Grand Seiko SLGW007 It’s very telling to me to see what my initial reactions were to a watch when it was announced. At Watches and Wonders 2024, Grand Seiko launched the SLGW003 “birch bark” featuring a new movement, the manual-wound 9SA4, and a new case within the Evolution 9 series. Looking back at the video that Zach Kazan and I shot to accompany the announcement post, you can see just how excited we were about it, despite being jet-lagged and inundated with new releases. The interesting part is that the new movement, which by all measures is the more significant development for the brand in terms of R&D, played second fiddle to the case, which addressed some enthusiast issues with Grand Seikos. The Chopard L.U.C. Grand Strike was one of, if not the most complicated. Kari Voutilainen released two new models, and in typically-Kari fashion, they flew slightly under the radar (as he doesn't often toot his own horn). But there was no doubt in my mind that the biggest release from Dubai Watch Week in 2025 was the new Tudor Ranger ref. 79930. Business News: Top Swiss Watch CEOs Talk Leadership And Strategy Amid Industry Challenges At Dubai Watch Week Dubai leaped to the center of the watch world this month as the top names in the industry converged on the rapidly growing city in the United Arab Emirates for the 10th edition of Dubai Watch Week .
